The Yarra Yering vineyard stretches across the gentle slopes of the Warramate Hills, benefiting from ideal exposure and optimal sunshine. The terroir consists of varied soils, ranging from clay to silt and gravel, which gives the wines a unique complexity and aromatic richness. climat The Yarra Valley has a temperate climate, with hot summers and cool winters, which promotes slow and even ripening of the grapes. The harvest is done by hand to select the best bunches and preserve the quality of the fruit.

Owner and history

Now headed by Sarah Crowe, Yarra Yering continues to thrive as domaine Family-run. Sarah Crowe, a talented and passionate winemaker, carries on the legacy of quality and innovation initiated by Dr. Bailey Carrodus. Her commitment to excellence and respect for the terroir are reflected in wines of great finesse and authentic expression.

Vinification and aging

The vinification of the Yarra Yering Pinot Noir 2018 is carried out with the utmost care, respecting both tradition and the environment. The grapes are destemmed and fermented in open vats using indigenous yeasts. Maceration lasts several weeks to extract the aromas and tannins from the grapes. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels, some of which are new, for an undisclosed period. Barrel aging helps to refine the tannins and add complexity to the wine's aromas. After bottling, the wine is aged in the cellar for several months to develop its complexity and balance.
