The vineyard of Château Margaux The estate covers approximately 82 hectares, cultivated on clay-limestone soils rich in minerals. This geological diversity allows for deep root development of the vines, promoting an authentic expression of the terroir. The grape varieties are carefully selected to harmonize with the characteristics of the soil and the climat, which are tempered by the influence of the Garonne. The vineyard is maintained with the greatest care, respecting the principles of sustainable and reasoned viticulture, in order to preserve biodiversity and the quality of the grapes.

Owner and history

Currently headed by Corinne Mentzelopoulos, the Château Margaux has been in good hands since 1977. She has managed to perpetuate the family legacy while modernizing the practices of the domaine. His vision is clear: to produce wines that reflect the unique character of their terroir while respecting the environment. Under his leadership, Château Margaux continues to write its history, committing itself to both winemaking excellence and the preservation of its ecosystem.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Margaux It is a meticulous process, where each step is designed to enhance the fruit. After rigorous hand-harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and carefully sorted. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks, allowing for optimal temperature control. Aging occurs in oak barrels, some of which are new, for 18 to 24 months. This extended aging process imparts aromatic complexity and tannic structure to the wine, while subtly integrating oak notes.
