Pieropan's 2021 Soave Classico boasts a brilliant straw-yellow hue. The nose offers a delicate bouquet of citrus, white flowers, and mineral notes. On the palate, the attack is lively and fresh, followed by a lovely roundness and balanced acidity. The finish is persistent, leaving a pleasant sensation of freshness and a subtle minerality. Pieropan's vineyards are located in the Soave Classico region of Veneto, in northeastern Italy. This area is renowned for its rolling hills, which offer a variety of microclimates essential for producing high-quality wines. The vines are planted on slopes with varying exposures, allowing for optimal sunlight and drainage, indispensable for growing healthy and flavorful grapes.

Owner and history

The Pieropan family, owners of the domaine, is deeply attached to its land and traditions. It is a purely family and historical management. After the death of the visionary Leonildo "Nino" Pieropan in 2018 (the man who proved that Soave could be a very great wine for aging), his sons Andrea (agronomist) and Dario (oenologist) took up the torch alongside their mother, Teresita.

Vinification and aging

The vinification of Pieropan's Soave Classico is carried out with the utmost care in order to preserve the freshness and expression of the terroir.

Winemaking: The Purity of the Fruit
Grape varieties: Predominantly Garganega complemented by a touch of Trebbiano di Soave.
Aging: Only in vitrified cement tanks. The idea here is to add nothing to the wine, to preserve the most direct possible expression of the grape and the soil.
Philosophy: This is an organic wine, vinified with as little intervention as possible to guarantee exceptional digestibility.

This is the family's "historic" wine. Unlike single-vineyard wines, it's a blend from several vineyards located on the hills of the Classico zone (the most prestigious part of the appellation). The 2021 vintage expresses a vibrant energy and brilliant aromatic clarity.
