Owner and history

My grandfather Victor Chaland began cultivating vines in the 1930s, and my father Jean-Noël took over in 1967 with his first vintage vinified at Domaine. It was in the year 2000 that I created the Domaine Sainte Barbe with an area of 4 hectares. Our vineyard has always been maintained and cultivated without the use of synthetic herbicides; it is with this respect for the soil and the expression of our terroir that the Domaine obtained organic farming certification in 2003.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Jean-Marie Chaland's winemaking is carried out with care and precision. After hand-harvesting the grapes, they are gently pressed to extract the finest juice. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, preserving the freshness and purity of the aromas. Aging on fine lees for several months gives the wine its richness and complexity. This artisanal method, combined with complete respect for the fruit, guarantees wines of great elegance.

The team's opinion

A wine that embodies the elegance and richness of Burgundy's terroirs, to be enjoyed without hesitation.
