THE Château Haut-Brion The 2021 Rouge has a deep, intense garnet color with purplish highlights. The nose reveals great aromatic complexity, dominated by fresh black fruit, delicate spices, and subtle smoky notes characteristic of Pessac-Léognan. On the palate, the attack is precise and elegant, supported by firm, perfectly integrated tannins. The balance is based on a lovely freshness. The finish is long, refined, and persistent.

The vineyard of Château Haut-Brion The vineyards are planted in deep gravelly soils, a mixture of pebbles, gravel, and sand over a clay subsoil. This composition ensures optimal natural drainage and promotes slow and even ripening of the grapes. Located on the outskirts of Bordeaux, the vines benefit from a unique microclimate. In 2021, a vintage marked by cool temperatures, meticulous vineyard work resulted in balanced, concentrated, and perfectly healthy grapes.

Owner and history

THE Château Haut-Brion has belonged to the Dillon family since 1935. Under the impetus of Clarence Dillon and then his descendants, the domaine has undergone significant technical modernization while preserving its historical identity. Today, the group is headed by Prince Robert of Luxembourg. Domaine Clarence Dillon pursues a vision of excellence and innovation. Their constant commitment to quality and precision helps to maintain Haut-Brion among the greatest red wines of Bordeaux.

Vinification and aging

At Château Haut-Brion, Each plot is vinified separately to preserve the expression of the terroir. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, ensuring precise and controlled extraction. Aging occurs in French oak barrels, a high proportion of which are new, for approximately 18 to 22 months.
For the 2021 vintage, the aging process highlights the finesse of the wine, respects its natural freshness and refines its tannic structure.
