    Description

THE Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, Second Grand Cru Classé in 1855, is one of the emblematic estates of the appellation Saint-Julien, in the heart of Medoc, has Bordeaux. Located on the edge of the Gironde estuary, the vineyard rests on famous deep gravelly soils composed of large pebbles, called "beautiful pebbles," which gave their name to the château. This exceptional terroir promotes optimal ripening of the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and gives the wines great tannic finesse. Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 2006 perfectly illustrates the style of the domaine : precision, structure, elegance and remarkable aging potential.

The vineyard of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou extends over deep, perfectly draining Günzian gravels, typical of the appellation Saint-Julien. These stony soils absorb heat during the day and release it at night, promoting even ripening of the grapes. The proximity of the Gironde estuary regulates temperatures and protects the vines from extreme weather. For the 2006 vintage, these conditions resulted in concentrated and balanced berries.

    Owner and history

THE Château Ducru-Beaucaillou has belonged to the Borie family since 1941. Today, it is managed by Bruno-Eugène Borie, the domaine pursues a quest for excellence and precision. Under his leadership, significant investments have been made in the vineyard and technical facilities. His vision is based on respect for the terroir of Saint-Julien and the constant pursuit of quality. This requirement is reflected in the consistency and distinction of the wines from château.

    Vinification and aging

At Château At Ducru-Beaucaillou, winemaking relies on rigorous plot selection and controlled fermentations to preserve the purity of the fruit. Aging takes place in French oak barrels, with a significant proportion of new oak, which contributes structure and complexity.
For the 2006 vintage, the Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend expresses the precision of the terroir. Aging refines the tannins and enhances the aromatic depth, while respecting the wine's natural elegance.
