The Château Rauzan-Ségla vineyard stretches across gravelly and sandy soils, characteristic of the Margaux region, providing natural drainage and promoting optimal ripening of the grapes. The vines, some several decades old, are cultivated using sustainable viticultural practices aimed at preserving biodiversity and soil health. This exceptional terroir, combined with a temperate oceanic climate, yields grapes of remarkable quality, guaranteeing the authenticity and expression of the terroir in every bottle.

    Owner and history

Currently, Château Rauzan-Ségla belongs to Chanel, which acquired the estate in 1994. This luxury brand, renowned for its expertise and exacting standards, has breathed new life into the château, blending winemaking tradition with innovation. Under the guidance of its team of winemakers and oenologists, the estate has implemented environmentally responsible practices while preserving the property's historical heritage. Chanel's commitment to excellence is reflected in every wine produced, demonstrating an unwavering passion for quality and respect for the terroir.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Rauzan-Ségla is a meticulous process, blending tradition and innovation. The grapes are harvested by hand, allowing for rigorous selection. After careful destemming, the grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled vats to preserve their freshness and fruitiness. Aging takes place in oak barrels, 30% of which are new, for approximately 12 months. This time spent in the barrel allows the wine to develop complexity and structure, while incorporating subtle aromas of wood. Each step is carefully considered to enhance the potential of the grapes and produce a wine that fully expresses the identity of the Margaux terroir.
