Casa Real Reserva Especial is the flagship wine of Viña Santa Rita, born from the romantic heritage of the 19th century and the ambitions of the modern wine world. Since its inception, all its grapes have come from a single block in the Alto Jahuel area of the Maipo Valley. With perfect exposure and aspect, this old vineyard, planted in the mid-1970s, is managed according to the latest precision viticulture practices and rests on ancient alluvial deposits of the Maipo River.

    Owner and history

Viña Santa Rita was founded in 1880 by Don Domingo Fernández Concha, a prominent businessman and public figure of the time. Don Domingo introduced the finest French grape varieties to the fertile lands of the Maipo Valley, while also importing specialized equipment and a team of top-level French winemakers. This initiative brought previously unknown techniques to Chile, transforming the country's winemaking methods and yielding spectacular results.

    Vinification and aging

The Santa Rita Casa Real 2023 is made using traditional methods. After hand-harvesting the grapes, they are destemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving the fruity aromas. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels, where it develops its complexity and character. This meticulous process, combined with bottle aging, results in a perfect harmony between power and finesse.

    The team's opinion

The Casa Real 2023, Viña Santa Rita's flagship wine, scored 98 points in the latest report on Chile published by Jeb Dunnuck, one of the most influential wine review platforms in the United States.
