    The 2023 Les Pavots is a deep, almost black, red. On the nose, it exudes intense aromas of ripe black fruit, blackcurrant, and cherry, with subtle notes of spice and dark chocolate. On the palate, this wine is powerful and velvety, with silky tannins and a beautiful structure. The finish is long and complex, leaving a delicate imprint of candied fruit and spice, inviting a second sip.

    Vinification and aging

    "The Poppies" was thus named by Lady Michael in reference to the wild California poppies that color the landscape of domaine from Knights Valley. The vineyard is planted on the slopes of Mount Saint Helena, giving the wine distinctive aromas and flavors that characterize our exclusive blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Since the first vintage in 1989, this refined blend of red Bordeaux grape varieties has offered a signature profile marked by notes of blueberry, a hint of Provençal herbs, and a magnificent expression of the full spectrum of these grapes.
