Owner and history

The Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is nestled between Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits. This exceptional terroir is characterized by clay-limestone soil, with a mineral richness that brings finesse and structure to the wines. The old Pinot Noir vines, cultivated with care and low yields, allow for maximum extraction of aromas, giving the wine a unique depth. This demanding and steep vineyard benefits from an ideal exposure, promoting slow and even ripening of the grapes, a guarantee of quality for this prestigious cuvée.

Vinification and aging

Louis Jadot employs traditional winemaking techniques in the production of its Grand Cru wines. The grapes for the 2022 Bonnes Mares are carefully hand-harvested and then fermented in open vats to allow for optimal extraction of tannins and aromas. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for approximately 18 months, imparting a discreet yet integrated oak structure that enhances its complex character without overpowering it. This meticulous aging process allows the Bonnes Mares Grand Cru to improve with age, revealing subtle aromas and remarkable finesse.
