Owner and history

A family property since 1834, the Domaine Chandon de Briailles is now managed by the brother-sister duo Claude and François de Nicolay. In 2005, they decided to switch from organic to biodynamic viticulture. The 12 vineyards are located in the communes of Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses, and Aloxe-Corton.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Chandon de Briailles is crafted with respect for Burgundian traditions. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and destemmed before undergoing fermentation in wooden vats. This method allows for gentle tannin extraction and better integration of aromas. Aging takes place in oak barrels, some of which are new, to add further complexity without masking the fruit. Each step is meticulously orchestrated, allowing the wines to reveal their full potential while retaining their unique character.
