The Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste vineyard stretches across gravelly soils, characteristic of the Pauillac appellation. These well-drained soils encourage deep root systems, allowing for optimal expression of the grape varieties. The region's oceanic climate, with its mild winters and sunny summers, contributes to the ripening of the grapes, ensuring exceptional quality. Rigorous vineyard management, combining tradition and innovation, yields healthy, ripe grapes, essential for producing great wines.

    Owner and history

Today, Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is managed by the Borie family, who have preserved the spirit and heritage of the estate. Passionate about their craft, they are committed to producing quality wines while respecting the environment and winemaking traditions. Each generation adds its personal touch, while remaining true to the estate's core values. Their dedication to excellence and their profound knowledge of the terroir make Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste a leading name in the world of Bordeaux's finest wines.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is a meticulous process, respecting Bordeaux traditions. The grapes, harvested by hand, are carefully selected. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature management to preserve the aromas. Aging occurs in oak barrels, some of which are new, to impart complexity and structure to the wine. This aging process, which lasts approximately 12 to 14 months, allows the 2014 Lacoste Borie to develop its unique personality while retaining the authenticity of its terroir.
