Notes and pairings

Tasting notes

This Pinot Noir displays a brilliant ruby color. On the nose, it offers a bouquet of fresh red fruits, enhanced by delicate floral notes. On the palate, the attack is supple and elegant, with a lovely acidity that balances the silky tannins. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a fruity and slightly spicy impression. A wine of great finesse.

Food & wine pairings

It will perfectly complement roasted poultry dishes, grilled salmon or aged cheeses.

Producer

Roserock is an exceptional vineyard located at the southern end of the Eola-Amity Hills in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Its ancient volcanic soils, ideal elevation, and the unique cooling effect of the Van Duzer Corridor allow for the production of classic Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. climat Fresh. Roserock is LIVE certified for sustainable agriculture.

Owner and history

The Drouhin family's winemaking roots go back to Burgundy, in 1880. A century later, the House Joseph Drouhin ventured outside of France with the creation of the Domaine Drouhin Oregon, in the Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley. Today, the Drouhin family's commitment to exploring and expressing Oregon's terroirs flourishes in Roserock, within the Eola-Amity Hills AOC. Roserock is the culmination of a rich family history that began in Beaune more than a century ago. Philippe Drouhin, a fervent advocate of sustainable agriculture, perpetuates this tradition as head of cultivation, alongside Véronique Boss-Drouhin, a graduate in oenology and specialist in Pinot Noir, who works as winemaker.

Vinification and aging

This blend of the finest Pinot Noir Roserock casks takes its name from the fragrant 'Zéphirine Drouhin' variety, a thornless climbing rose introduced in 1868. Fittingly, the deep ruby-hued Pinot Noir Zéphirine exudes an intoxicating aroma of roses, violets, strawberries, and cocoa. The complexity and finesse of this lyrical wine will benefit from cellaring, although it is already delicious to drink upon release.

The team's opinion

The Roserock "Zéphirine" Pinot Noir 2021 is often considered by critics to be one of the historical peaks of this domaine from Oregon (owned by the Drouhin family). The 2021 vintage in the Willamette Valley is exceptional: it combines the concentration of a hot year with an acidic and tannic structure worthy of the greatest Burgundy vintages for aging.
