    Notes and pairings

    Tasting notes

This wine boasts a beautiful, deep, almost opaque red color. On the nose, intense aromas of black cherry, plum, and spicy notes mingle with hints of dark chocolate. On the palate, the Amarone reveals a rich and velvety structure, with well-integrated tannins and a lovely acidity that balances the sweetness of the ripe fruit. The finish is long and persistent, marked by notes of dried fruit and vanilla.

    Food & wine pairings

This wine pairs perfectly with dishes in sauce, grilled red meats or aged cheeses.

The vineyards of Tommasi are carefully cultivated on gentle slopes, where the clay-limestone soil allows the grape varieties to express themselves fully. The Mediterranean climate, with its hot, dry summers, ensures optimal ripening of the grapes. Each plot is selected for its unique characteristics, contributing to the complexity of the wines. Viticulture is practiced with complete respect for the environment, promoting biodiversity and soil health.

    Owner and history

Currently managed by the fourth generation of the Tommasi family, the estate embodies their heritage and passion for wine. The owners are committed to preserving traditions while incorporating modern practices. Their vision is to produce wines that tell the story of their land, while remaining in tune with contemporary environmental challenges. With meticulous attention to every detail, they have established Tommasi as a leading name in the world of wine.

    Vinification and aging

The 2009 De Buris Amarone della Valpolicella is made from carefully selected grapes, which are left to dry on wicker mats for several months. This traditional technique, called 'appassimento', concentrates the aromas and sugars of the grapes. Fermentation proceeds slowly, followed by aging in oak barrels for several years, allowing the wine to develop aromatic complexity and a rounded mouthfeel. Every step of the winemaking process is designed to respect the identity of the terroir.

    The team's opinion

A majestic and profound 2009 Amarone De Buris from Tommasi, blending candied black cherry, cocoa, dried fig and noble spices, with a voluptuous, ample and perfectly balanced palate despite the power, ending with an endless and harmonious finish.
