Tasting notes
This Zinfandel displays a deep, intense ruby color. On the nose, it exudes aromas of ripe black fruit, sweet spices, and subtle notes of vanilla. On the palate, the attack is ample and generous, with silky tannins and a lovely freshness. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a rich and spicy impression. A balanced and flavorful red wine.

The 160 hectares of vineyards are spread across the Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, and Dry Creek Valley. Ted Seghesio is the winemaker, and the winery is located at the confluence of these three wine regions, in Healdsburg. The range, heavily focused on the Zinfandel grape, is produced primarily from the family vineyard, which includes the first plot planted by the ancestor in 1895. The grape variety covers approximately 100 hectares, including very vieilles vignes (90 years old) grown in goblet style in the Alexander and Dry Creek valleys. Small touches of secondary grape varieties (including Petite Sirah or Durif) sometimes complete the blends.
The team's opinion
A vibrant Zinfandel that captures the essence of the Californian sun and the richness of its vieilles vignes.
