    Owner and history

    F. Algueira, located in the Spanish region of Ribeira Sacra, is a jewel of viticulture, whose origins date back to Roman times and were perpetuated by monks in the Middle Ages. Revitalized by Fernando González in 1979, Algueira has focused on reviving abandoned terraces and showcasing indigenous grape varieties such as Brancellao, Merenzao, Caíño or Sousón, planted alongside the more predominant Mencía and Godello.

    Vinification and aging

Dolio reflects the heritage of the Ribeira Sacra, one of Spain's most unique and extraordinary wine-growing landscapes. They use only the best of their indigenous grape varieties; Mencía—the emblematic grape of the appellation—comes from their most vieilles vignes On the steepest slopes—with the ancient Brancellao, capable of revealing the most delicate and subtle nature of their grapes; then Sousón and Caíño to underscore the vibrancy and complexity of the region's Atlantic character, as well as Garnacha Tintorera to bring depth to the blend. And finally, they use only the best plots, those with the oldest vines and subjected to the most extreme conditions, in order to enhance the remarkable mineral character of their exceptional terroirs.
