The Château Le Gay vineyard is located on the Pomerol plateau, renowned for its clay and sandy-gravelly soils that promote optimal grape ripening. The meticulously tended vines stretch across well-exposed slopes, benefiting from maximum sunshine. This unique terroir allows the Merlot and Cabernet Franc grape varieties to fully flourish, producing wines rich in aromas and structure. The proximity to the Dordogne River also helps moderate temperatures, creating an ideal microclimate for viticulture.

    Owner and history

Château Le Gay is currently managed by a passionate family dedicated to preserving the heritage and quality of this prestigious estate. Their commitment to sustainable viticulture and their love for the terroir are reflected in their environmentally conscious practices. They work tirelessly to enhance each vintage, blending tradition and innovation. This passion is evident in every bottle, making each wine a true expression of their land.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Le Gay is carried out with great respect for the fruit. After a manual harvest, the grapes are carefully sorted before being destemmed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature management. Aging occurs in oak barrels, some of which are renewed each year. This aging process, which lasts approximately 12 months, imparts subtle woody aromas to the wine while preserving the purity of the fruit. Every step is carefully considered to enhance the authenticity of the terroir and the typicity of the vintage.
