Tasting notes

The dress of this Champagne Quintette Chardonnay is a sparkling pale gold. On the nose, it reveals delicate aromas of white flowers, citrus, and a subtle mineral touch. On the palate, the effervescence is fine and creamy, supported by a refreshing acidity. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a pleasant sensation of freshness and purity.

Food & wine pairings

Perfect as an aperitif, it will also go wonderfully with seafood, oysters or fish tartare.

Producer

Nestled between the Marne Valley and the Côte des Blancs, the southern slopes of Epernay offer a true mosaic of terroirs: on these hillsides cut by the rivers of Cubry and Darcy, the 3 great Champagne grape varieties flourish on varied soils, clayey and full of flint, in which chalk forms the link. Pierry, the birthplace of the Séléque family for three generations, is also one of the historical birthplaces of wines from Champagne At the end of the 17th century, Brother Oudart (a contemporary of Dom Pérignon) produced some of the very first sparkling wines here, which would go on to achieve the success we know in European courts and even in the "New World". Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir find complex and balanced expressions here, between fruity density and chalky freshness.

Owner and history

Henri Sélèque planted vines in the 1960s on the renowned terroirs of Moussy and Pierry, and began bottling his wines in 1969. His son, Richard, an oenologist, brought the estate into the era of modernity and technical precision, while also expanding the family's winemaking heritage. Since 2008, Jean-Marc, the third generation, a proponent of a more natural approach to viticulture, has grounded his production in the pursuit of authenticity and the expression of the terroir.
