Montagny has been an AOC since 1936 and also an AOP , it is located in four villages: Buxy , Montagny-lès-Buxy , Jully-lès-Buxy and Saint Vallerin .
Made entirely from Chardonnay grapes, this white wine displays the typical characteristics of Chardonnay: a clear, golden color with subtle green highlights. It offers a beautiful bouquet of floral aromas: acacia, hawthorn, honeysuckle, and fern, complemented by hints of lemongrass and flint. Montagny is a fresh wine, with a youthful character and lovely finesse of flavor.

The appellation has an east and southeast exposure on the slopes of the Bajocian hills with an ideal terroir of marl or limestone soils. The vines reach altitudes between 250 and 400 meters.
49 vineyard sites in Montagny have benefited from the Premier Cru appellation, among which are: Les Bouchots, Le Clouzot, Les Pidances, Les Las, Les Gouresses, Les Burnins, Les Maroques, Les Beaux Champs…
