The story ofChâteau MontroseIt began in the 19th century with Étienne Théodore Dumoulin, who planted the first vines on a hill covered in heather, named "Mont Rose". His work was crowned in 1855 with the title ofSecond Growth ClassifiedOver generations, four families succeeded one another, leaving a lasting mark on the estate. Among them,Yvonne Charmolüeleaves its mark by inspiring the creation ofThe Lady of Montrose.

In 2006,Martin and Olivier Bouyguesare breathing new life into Montrose, combining modernization and a transition to sustainable viticulture. Since 2022,Pierre Graffeuille, general manager, andCharlotte BouyguesThe president and her team manage the château. Driven by a clear vision, they continue the work of their predecessors, reinforcing the estate's environmental excellence. Today, Château Montrose stands out for its dynamism and its ability to anticipate the viticultural challenges of tomorrow.

Modernity and History

A benchmark domain

From 2007 to 2013, a major project was undertaken atChâteau MontroseThis project covers 10,000 square meters and aims to equip the Château with the best winemaking facilities. A new 1,000-square-meter, 11-meter-high winery is being built. This will allow for the customized aging of each of the estate's grand wines. 3,000 square meters of photovoltaic panels are also being installed on the roofs of the buildings. By utilizing geothermal energy, the estate is significantly reducing its carbon footprint, recording energy consumption 50% lower than average. The work, however, is carefully designed to preserve the estate's distinctive aesthetic.Bordeauxof the Château to preserve the harmony of the estate. Intertwined with the traditional architecture, high-tech environmental installations enable cutting-edge winemaking techniques.
